Hiding SPVs Empty Hiding SPVs

Post  Captain Burgundy Wed Jun 27, 2012 1:17 pm

I've been chatting to a very good friend of mine, who mentioned the man who had an SPV hidden at the back of his shop (Point 783) and consequently suffered huge losses when Scarlet had to get it out of the building. There were other daft places that were used, too; like the place where Scarlet acquired an SPV without permission, when he had supposedly resigned. If he'd been a Mysteron agent, he would have got that far too easily!

So I'll put the question to all of you. If you had to hide an SPV for Spectrum, what would you do with it?

What would be the stupidest / strangest place to try to hide one?

If there is a way to waterproof them to where they wouldn't rust, I say put them at the deepest part of a river or lake.

Hiding SPVs Empty The strangest place to hide an SPV

Post  oddballextreme Sat Jun 30, 2012 11:03 pm

I had posted it on Facebook already, but for those of you who DON'T have Facebook, here's what I answered:

Oh, I can answer this one! On the first Saturday of each month, the little town of Santuck, Alabama, has its flea market where HUNDREDS of people show up for crazy deals. The goofiest place would have to be in a trailer that'd be big enough to hold lawn equipment. After showing the credentials, someone would have a nightmare trying to get the SPV past the scores of people. (And let's face it, in the tiny town of Santuck, this would be a HUGE story!)

There's another Alabama town that would be a wacky place: Slapout! Yeah, there's a town called Slapout. One lonely road, it'd be bigger there than in Santuck!

Thank you both for your thoughts and welcome to the site, oddballextreme.

My daft place would be on a driveway in front of a council house, disguised as a caravan. Many houses have caravans/camper vans parked outside of them in the Uk, but I picked on a house in the middle of a council estate because those areas are so built up.

That caravan/camper van would need a strong wheelbase/suspension Wink

Yes, that's very true.

Come on then, Mads; where would you hide (or not) an SPV?

How about...

Not: In a space station - How would you get to it in the first place? What would you do with it once you're there?

Still thinking about where I would hide it.

I know where I wouldn't hide one - on a scrapheap! It could get buried, or melted down... I wouldn't want to have to explain that one to the Colonel! Shocking

I wonder if you could hide an SPV in a salt mine?

It'll be no different than explaining what happened to all the other SPVs etc. that you've destroyed Wink

Wouldn't it get rusty in a salt mine? Neutral salt can rust metal

In Special Assignment, I can't remember the name of the place (I'm still going through all the episodes) but I thought that he'd got that SPV far too easily, also.
