Ventriloquism/Role playing

Thought I'd share my thoughts/observations...
I saw a few weeks ago a program on ventriloquism, the program was focused on a ventriloquist called Nina Conti. Later, I saw her on a repeat of QI. And it made me interested in the subject (not quite enough to start up as a ventriloquist and get my own puppet, though).
Today I was thinking about all the role-playing on the forum, and noticed how similar role-playing is to ventriloquism. Although we're typing and not using our voices, there are similarities... It helps if you have an (almost) split personality, whether using an 'own character' (like -in no particular order
- Madder, Burgundy, Ruddy etc.) or using one of the characters that already exist in the CS universe (Blue etc. not forgetting Scarlet 
the series probably wouldn't have been called 'Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons' if he wasn't in it 
).
It's pretty much the same for fan fiction writing too, in a way.

That really is interesting, Mads. I never thought of writing like that - or telling stories at all, for that matter - but I can see the similarities between ventriloquism and story telling. Both take a lot of imagination.

Maybe that was why he was sent off to college, because he was caught messing about on forums, instead of doing his work. I can just imagine Colonel White. "If your gonna act like a teenager, you can go back to college, Captain Scarlet."

In that case, why hasn't Captain Ochre been sent back to Nursery? 
For your information, I was sent there to talk to them about career opportunities with Spectrum. I had to take the bus because I've had my driving license... uh... I... Captain Blue would have had to have act as my chaufer.
